Come nei casi di Don Manuel, Pedro de Marsella e Guillén Ramón de Rocafull (ma anche di altri devoti legati al santuario de El Puerto de Santa Maria, come Sancha, Johane, Afonso, Domingo, Maestr’Ali e Bonamic), è probabile che il nome e la caratterizzazione del personaggio siano stati ispirati da un referente concreto, attivo e vivente al tempo di composizione dei rispettivi testi (Snow 1979: 15; O’Callaghan 1998: 185-186). Nella CSM 377, Pedro Lourenço è descritto come uno dei più talentuosi pittori (o miniaturisti) al servizio del Rey Sabio, quasi senza rivali, tanto da ottenere un grande beneficio da parte del re (non senza ostacoli da parte della cancelleria) dopo aver dato prova della sua bravura nel dipingere l’amata Vergine Maria: la escribanía di Villa Real (Ballesteros Beretta 1984: 302)

Coma nos casos de Don Manuel, Pedro de Marsella e Guillén Ramón de Rocafull (pero tamén doutros devotos vinculados ao santuario de El Puerto de Santa María, como Sancha, Johane, Afonso, Domingo, Maestr'Ali e Bonamic), é probable que o nome e a caracterización da personaxe estivesen inspirados nun referente concreto, activo e vivo no momento da composición dos respectivos textos (Snow 1979: 15; O'Callaghan 1998: 185-186). Na CSM 377, Pedro Lourenço é descrito como un dos máis talentosos pintores (ou miniaturistas) ao servizo do Rei Sabio, case sen rivais, tanto que obtivo un gran beneficio do rei (non sen atrancos por parte da chancelaría) despois de dar proba da súa habilidade na pintura da figura da Virxe María: a escribanía de Villa Real (Ballesteros Beretta 1984: 302)
